In general the surface area consists of semi (61 ), with altitudes ranging from 1500 to 2000 meters above sea level, there are also flat areas (35 ) and hilly (4 ), reaching heights from 2100 to 2700 meters above sea level.
To the north lies the hill of Papalote, south of Carrizo table, to the east in its northern part are El Picacho, Cerro Penasco of Colorado, and Periquera Girl Periquera Grande, is located southeast Mesa High, El Herradero, hill Ojeda, Coyote Hill, the hill and mountain Pisiate Los Robles.
Floor. The composition of the soil type is predominant luvisol, and Haplic Andosols Castanozem Luvic. The municipality has a land area of 28,494 hectares, of which 7359 are used for agricultural purposes, 17,538 in livestock, forest use are 1130, 207 hectares of urban land are not specify the use of 2260. As far as ownership is concerned, an extension of 7124 hectares is private and another 19,110 ejido is not being communal property. Hectareas of 2260 does not specify the type of property.
