Movie For other uses, see Film (disambiguation). A film is a cinematic masterpiece that tells a story visually through moving pictures based on a script written by a writer in general and in which the characters are played by actors. Characters are not sensitive material in which images are printed, nor if it is projected on a movie theater on the big screen or viewed on a TV home. From the technical point of view, a movie is a sequence of photographic images taken with a camera, and presented through a film projector, using an image replacement rate exceeding 18 frames per second, so it creates in the human eye the illusion of continuity, without interruption between each frame because of the persistence of vision.
